Woodlands Historic Park Wasps

Black male wasp with wingless black and red female (family Tiphiidae) at Woodlands Historic Park
Mating parasitic flower wasps. The male carries the wingless female around, and it is presumably in his interest to see that she gets to feed. Females with this appearance have only been seen with males that are all black.
