Called "Horse Dung Fungus" purely because of it's appearance, it has nothing to do with horses. The species is mycorrhizal on Eucalypts and is very common in the park near Red Gums. While you will often see actual horse dung on tracks in the park, you will frequently see this fungus beside tracks as well.
