Woodlands Historic Park Bees

Digger Bee at Woodlands Historic Park
Digger Bee, early November.

The bee is taking nectar from the flower of an exotic shrub on the former Greenvale Sanitorium site. This particular shrub always has lots of native insects on it's flowers. It is very hard to find any native plants flowering in the park at the same time, probably because the native flora in the park is so diminished in diversity.
